Bruntwood donate £100,000 to The New Children's Hospital Appeal at their Annual Property Ball

At our 9th Annual Property Ball at the Lowry Hotel last weekend, Bruntwood presented the New Children’s Hospital Appeal with a cheque for £106,304. This donation marks our first instalment of a £500,000 commitment over the next 5 years, making us the largest corporate supporter of the Appeal.

The money has been raised through several fund raising events over the past year, including an Annual Golf Day and an Easter Egg Raffle. The largest contributor however was Bruntwood’s New York Marathon Team, who collectively raised over £36,000. The marathon team were on hand on the evening to present Peter Mount, Trust Chairman with a cheque for £106,304.

The Bruntwood Annual Property Ball has been running for almost 10 years, on 'an' invitation only basis. The event is now widely anticipated by the great and good of the region's architectural, financial, legal and property sectors. As always, the evening was a great success and tickets sold out quickly, leaving many people disappointed.

Buntwood’s entire pledge of £500,000 will be directed towards the ‘Spinal & Orthopaedic Ward.’ The ward is due for completion in 2009 and will treat around 450 children each month. Peter Mount commented, “We were thrilled with the magnificent support we have received from Bruntwood towards the New Children’s Hospital Appeal”.

This is the biggest and most ambitious charitable pledge Bruntwood has made to date with dozens of people throughout the business contributing towards our total so far. Simon Scott, Head of Marketing at Bruntwood said “This is a great start to our 5 year commitment, especially as we raised £36,000 in the NY marathon without me so much as breaking sweat!”
