Bruntwood take a trip to Narnia

Bruntwood are delighted to announce that their chosen theatre production sponsorship in Leeds, will be a little different from past productions. Aimed at people of all ages, Bruntwood have decided to sponsor “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”, which is scheduled to be The West Yorkshire Playhouse’s Christmas spectacular for 2007/8.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a fantasy novel for children, written in 1950 by C. S. Lewis. Dedicated to his goddaughter, Lucy Barfield, it’s the first book of The Chronicles of Narnia and is the best-known book of the series.

The story focuses around four young adventurers, playing hide-and-seek in the country home of an old professor, who stumble upon an enchanted wardrobe that will take them places they never dreamed. Stepping through the wardrobe door, they are whisked into a spectacular parallel universe known as Narnia - a fairytale realm of magical proportions, where woodland animals talk and mythological creatures roam.

This production has run before at The Playhouse and was one of the most popular and successful staged there in its 16 years, selling out for many of its performances in 2004. Everyone involved is hoping that this year it’s going to be bigger and better.
