Day 4 – Roanne to Yssingeaux (The 100 Day!)

The day delivered, each and every rider’s first 100 mile ride (well almost...), an achievement for any cyclist, but considering the terrain and the amount of climbing involved, an even bigger achievement.

After leaving the hotel, we first had to undertake a 7km climb, equivalent to the Cat & Fiddle; a mere taste of what was to come.

After the day had ended, we had climbed more than 1750 meters, our task involved cycling from one river valley; The Loire to The Rhone – worth it though, the views being amazing and the down hill descents spectacular. At times we were reaching 45 miles per hour.

A tough day; which ended with a category 2 12km climb out of the Rhone Valley to our finish – what a rush!
